Ewan McGregor plans worldwide tour

Of course, if Obi Wan wants to circumnavigate the globe, you can be sure that it will be something out of the ordinary. Ewan McGregor will leave London later this week on his motorcycle and plans to arrive in New York about three months later.

His trek, which is capturing for posterity and profit under the guise of a documentary will take him across Europe and Asia before crossing over to North America by way of Alaska. Along the way, his friend and fellow actor Charley Boorman will keep him company and man the camera.

McGregor and Boorman have been training with ex-soldiers on emergency procedures and survival tactics to help them out on their 20,000+ mile trip. The pair plan to carry everything that they need on their bikes.

McGregor can next be seen in this week's limited release of the independent film Young Adam. He portrays Obi Wan for the last time in next year's Star Wars: Episode III.
